Foo Fighters thrilled a select few lucky fans with the first of three secret gigs in Brighton last night (Wednesday 10 September) - teasing that they're set to play a week-long residency at Wembley Stadium next year. See footage and the setlist below.
Billed as The Holy Shits, the band fulfilled the promise of their first less than secret club gig at The Concorde 2 in Brighton - delivering a set packed with classics and fan favourites, covering Tom Petty and inviting the lead singer of a Foos tribute band on stage in the process.
Exciting news for fans who didn't get the chance to see the band on this limited run of gigs, as Dave Grohl seemingly hinted at some massive shows next year.
"I seem to remember years ago we played this club and it was also hot as balls," Grohl told the crowd, reports NME. "When we were asked to come over and play the Invictus Games on Sunday I thought 'we haven't played in the UK in years, and I thought we'd try to play gigs like this pretty much every night we're here until we have to go home. And it gives us a chance to see your faces before we play that week at Wembley Stadium."
Another awesome moment when Grohl paid tribute to a Foo Fighters tribute band who were in attendance.
"We don't wanna shit the bed in front of the UK Foo Fighters," said Grohl. "They'll be like 'that's not how it goes'." Grohl later invited lead singer Jay from the band on stage to take lead vocals on 'White Limo', telling the crowd "ladies and gentlemen, please welcome... Me!", before later joking "I was on vacation for three and a half minutes."
