The Creators Project today announces Four Tet: Looking Backward, Moving Forward, a beautiful, in-depth documentary into the enigmatic artist Four Tet, which was directed by Dan Wilde.
In this unprecedentedly intimate interview, the man behind the music - aka Kieran Hebden - shares the secrets of his creative influences, "music as life" methodology, and collaboration with legendary jazz drummer Steve Reid.
Hebden recalls the early days of making music, when he'd watch six episodes of Dawson's Creek before getting on with anything, as well as discussing how his personal life - his wife, his sister - impact on his records.
The film, produced by The Creators Project, a partnership between Intel and VICE, brings Hebden's anecdotes and musings to life with stunning animations of archival photographs from the musician's own collection.
Four Tet is a post-rock/ electronic musician that has been a leading figure in the experimental electronic must scene for the better half of a decade, having toured the world several times over and collaborated with big name acts such as Burial, Thom Yorke, and Aphex Twin. Beautiful Rewind, his seventh studio album, is to be released sometime this year.
