Pop punk heavyweights, Four Year Strong, have confirmed they will be joining Good Charlotte on the UK Kerrang! Relentless Energy Drink Tour in February 2011.
The band, Dan O'Connor (Vocals/Guitar), Alan Day (Vocals/Guitar), Josh Lyford (Vocals/Synth), Jake Massucco (Drums), and Joe Weiss (Bass), was formed in Massachusetts in 2001 after O'Conner, Day, and Massucco met through mutual friends. With influences like Lifetime, Saves the Day, Gorilla Biscuits, and New Found Glory, FYS has always strived to create music that they themselves would enjoy as listeners. Their motivation has manifested itself in a fluid mix of everything from punk pop to hardcore to indie rock.
Benji Madden of Good Charlotte says on the tour, "We can't wait to hang out with Four Year Strong... The bill is so strong - people are going to get their money's worth!"
"We're really excited to do this," adds Four Year Strong guitarist/vocalist Alan Day. "We love coming over to the UK because the shows are always amazing.
"We're really looking forward to starting the tour in Ireland, too," he adds. "We've never been to Dublin, so I'm going to be the biggest tourist ever and do all the sightseeing I can. This tour is going to be unbelievable!"
Their distinct sound and incredibly energetic live shows has led to their inclusion on countless tours and also caught the attention of Fallout Boy's Pete Wentz, who signed FYS to his label Decaydance Records in February 2008. The band's hectic touring has seen them travel across the US with Every Time I Die and appear on The Warped Tour this summer. Additionally, their last jaunt to the UK included both sold out headline shows and Slam Dunk dates.
Additionally, the band also previously announced a one off London show at The Electric Ballroom in London on Wednesday 10th November. The band will be releasing single 'Tonight We Feel Alive (On A Saturday)' two days before the headline show on 8th November.
