Franz Ferdinand, fresh from their double success at the NME Awards, joined Travis, Idlewild, Mull Historical Society, Belle & Sebastian and a host of other Scottish bands at a fundraiser for Tsunami victims last night (February 19) in Glasgow.
More than 10,000 tickets for the event at the SECC were snapped up within 36 hours of going on sale, raising nearly £300,000 for the Disasters Emergency Committee. Scotland's First Minister Jack McConnell was amongst the audience.
The show was opened by The Tsunami Allstars - a showcase of musicians including Teenage Fanclub's Norman Blake and Eddi Reader â€" with a cover of The Proclaimers' ‘Five Hundred Miles'.
The Glasgow concert took place on the same night as a tsunami benefit show in Bristol, which saw Massive Attack and Portishead share a stage for the first time.document.write(unescape("
