Franz Ferdinand October dates

Franz Ferdinand have announced details of a UK tour in October 2009.

The full list of dates are as follows:

19th Wolverhampton Civic Hall

Tickets for the shows will be priced at £20 (except London where they will be £21.50). The tickets will go on general sale at 9am on Friday 24th April. Buy tickets here.

Franz Ferdinand released their third album, Tonight: Franz Ferdinand, through Domino Records in January 2009. The album reached number 2 in the U.K. charts and charted in the top 10 in 19 other countries worldwide, including the U.S.

The band recently completed a short sold-out UK tour which culminated in a triumphant show at the Hammersmith Apollo. A number of the shows on the tour were recorded, and in conjunction with www.livehernow.com & Domino the Glasgow, Birmingham, London & Manchester gigs were made available to buy on the night after each gig and are currently still available via www.liveherenow.com/news.asp. Each show CD costs £15.

They head to the U.S. for a tour starting in mid-April (including a slot at the Coachella festival) before returning in May to play festivals across Europe during the summer, including slots at both Glastonbury (headlining the second stage), T in the Park & a headline performance at the Bennicasim. They also headline the Fuji festival in Japan in July.

Franz Ferdinand are: Alex Kapranos (vocals/guitar/keys), Nick McCarthy (vocals, keys, guitar), Paul Thomson (drums/guitar) and Bob Hardy (bass).
