Friendly Fires have said they were ridiculed for their fashion sense by the Harlem Gospel Choir during recording sessions for their new album 'Pala'.
The St Albans trio admitted that they were constantly mocked by the US choir when they brought them on board for a guest appearance on their second LP.
"They took the piss out of our tight jeans and boots," frontman Ed MacFarlane told The Sun. "Fashion is obviously different in Harlem to St Albans."
He added: "But I didn't mind because they were amazing when they were recording."
The band will kick off a UK tour later this autumn at the O2 Academy Bristol on November 10 before wrapping up at the O2 Academy Brixton in London on November 25.
The St Albans trio have also lined up a free show for London's iTunes Festival at the Roundhouse on July 14. See Itunesfestival.com for ticket details.
