Sony Ericsson has teamed up with Friendly Fires to create a completely unique gig that plays on the audiences senses to heighten the experience to the extreme.
The 'Pitch Black' session, set to take place at a secret London venue on June 15, promises to treat the audience of only 200 to a gig with a difference, where you'll be forced to 'feel' the music and think more about how certain tracks affect you.
Friendly Fires are up to the challenge and promising a set that, while it still features all the classics, has been tweaked to ensure they have the desired effect when played live to an effectively blind audience. Understandably, they're also looking forward to playing with night-vision goggles! "'Don't be afraid of Sony Ericsson denying you one sense. It should provide a unique slant on hearing live music and I'm sure they'll let you have it back at the end."
This exclusive gig won't have an industry-only guest list either. Sony Ericsson is ensuring its Pitch Black gig can instead be enjoyed by its customers and true Friendly Fires fans. Pitch Black tickets will be up for grabs through various media competitions and a dedicated MySpace channel (www.myspace.com/pitchblackgig), live from June 1.
