Queen's Hall is one of Edinburgh's most delicate and theatrical venues, playing host to only the elitist of concerts. As part of the annual Edge Festival, two of Scotland's biggest and musically beautiful bands Broken Records and Frightened Rabbit will take to Queen's Hall as two of the main highlights of Edge Festival.
Broken Records will play the venue on 17th August, showcasing live songs from most recent album 'Until The Earth Begins to Part'. The band are completely addictive, crafting a show you will crave for days. Broken Records form a beauty so overwhelming that you're drawn to them, close enough to touch the careless beat of keyboards and double bass intertwined with the charming violin. Too many cooks spoil the broth? Not at all, Broken Records vast amount of members can only add to their matchless sound.
Frightened Rabbit will grace Queen's Hall the night after Broken Records on 18th August. Leadsinger Scott Hutchinson will surely mumble his way through his lyrics, but still present the unique vocal style that gives Frightened Rabbit their edge. The lyrical content is powerful and thoughtful with one-liners that make your hair stand on end: 'There is peace beneath the roar of the Forth Road Bridge/I think I'll save suicide for another year'. Frightened Rabbit's headline slot will no doubt be one of the most talked about sets at The Edge Festival.
This year's Edge Festival, part of the annual Edinburgh Fringe Festival, will see a plethora of great names take to the city's numerous stages: Biffy Clyro, Calvin Harris, The Streets, The Stranglers, Amanda Palmer and The Bluetones to name but a couple.
