Reuters reports that Garth Brooks, the all-time best-selling star in country music, will hold a benefit concert on December 17 for victims of Tennessee's spring flooding. The planned benefit at Bridgestone Arena will be the first time Brooks has performed in Nashville in more than a decade. It's thrilling to see the star return to the country music mecca. I m actually a bit shocked that he has been absent from that marketplace for such a long time.
Proceeds from the show will go to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, which has been distributing aid to victims of the flooding that occurred when the mighty Cumberland River spilled over its banks into downtown Nashville and devastated several neighborhoods and outlying areas. Other central Tennessee towns were also hit by flooding.
Are you planning to attend this concert if you live in the Nashville area? Who is your favorite country music artist?
