The 40-year-old judge and his Take That bandmate Robbie Williams are currently mentoring his semi-finalists in Los Angeles, and not wanting to miss out on the action, his 69-year-old mum has also joined in the fun.
'She is in my ear about who she wants,' Gary told The Mirror. 'She has been to a few of the audition days and she has watched the audition tapes back about three times this week.
'That's what this show is about, it is an opinion, it is all about people at home thinking they are the football manager and can do better.'
