Robbie rejoined the group for one album and a tour which finished this summer, and is now set to go back to being a solo artist, but Gary said that as far as the rest of the band is concerned, it’s business as usual.
“We will always be around. Having Rob back or not, I think we can do it for the rest of our lives now,” he told the Daily Star.
“Rob wants to do a solo record next year. So it will be the four of us.
“I have no idea what direction it will go in. We will only know that when the four of us go back in the studio. At the moment I have no time to write new songs because of all my other jobs.”
The group’s Progress tour DVD has already become British music store HMV’s second-biggest pre-selling DVD of the year, after Harry Potter, and Gary said he is thrilled with what they achieved.
“I watched it the other night and it feels like years ago, that bloody concert,” he said.
“It looks incredible. I’m proud of us. It was an incredible two years and we did it.
“For now Progress is done, but I think we will come back to it with Rob whenever we feel like it.”
