Numan will perform the Number 1 album Replicas (plus B-sides) for this indigO2 show. The album, which was originally released by his band Tubeway Army, includes the chart-topping single 'Are 'Friends' Electric?', Numan's commercial breakthrough in 1979 spending 16 weeks at the top of the charts and selling nearly a million copies. Numan then went solo, scoring another massive number 1 single with 'Cars'.
With continued success throughout the 80's and beyond, Gary Numan is now cited by such performing greats including Trent Reznor, Dave Grohl and Marilyn Manson as "the godfather of electronic music", inspiring and influencing electro, rock, and metal bands alike. As the NME argued, 'Numan's influence on electronic music is unparalleled.'
More recently Numan's stamp on music could be heard when the Sugababes sampled 'Are Friend's Electric?' for their 2002 #1 smash 'Freak Like Me'.
