Gaz Coombes today leads the charge as one of the first confirmations for OxfordOxford's debut event taking place Friday 26th – Sunday 28th September in South Park. Also confirmed is the event's official charity partner, locally founded and leading international charity, Oxfam.
Three days of film, music and community activities are beginning to take shape as OxfordOxford unveils some of its inaugural programme. Friday's theme will be film and the corn is popping in anticipation of Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland and a special 'sing-along' screening of Grease.
Music will be the order of the day for Saturday with the aforementioned 'local boy done good' and former Supergrass frontman, Gaz Coombes. Also taking to the stage will be further acts with Oxfordshire links; electronic-inspire folk outfit Tunng, the dreamy soundscapes of Pixel Fix and indie four piece Dance a la Plage. A special 'Movement Records Presents' set will see Christian Gregory and Celeste (both Movement Records artists) curate a bespoke performance. OxfordOxford's music headliner and further Saturday acts will be announced soon.
Last but by no means least, Sunday welcomes charities, community groups and more to OxfordOxford. Amongst the first to join the event are Dancin' Oxford and the Museum of Oxford. Also present will be local independent espresso bar Missing Bean and G&D's Ice Cream who will be developing a special flavor just for OxfordOxford. Any local groups, businesses or organisations who are interested in becoming involved are encouraged to get in touch via the OxfordOxford website.
Sunday will be free entry with tickets for the other days ranging from £6.25 to £32.50. Residents within the OX postcodes are able to purchase a special weekend discounted ticket at £43.25, £6 cheaper than the equivalent price of purchasing individual Friday and Saturday tickets. All tickets are available from www.oxfordoxford.co.uk/tickets now.
