The talk-show host stunned TV viewers by revealing his plans to enter politics, live on Fox 11’s Good Day LA breakfast show.
But the 49-year-old’s rep now says Lopez was just kidding.
The Lopez Tonight host told viewers yesterday: 'I do intend to run for mayor, at some point, of Los Angeles… in eight years. I want to be mayor of Los Angeles.
'If Arnold Schwarzenegger can be governor, why can't George Lopez be the mayor of Los Angeles? We have O-bama. We'll have Lo-bama.”
He went on to say: 'Eight years I run. By that time, the population of Latinos in California [will be] 96.4 per cent…
'I am serious, but I love Lopez Tonight right now. And I love stand-up.'
