Ghostface KIllah is suing Universal regarding unpaid Wu Tang Clan royalties.
The rapper, real name Dennis Coles, has said that the record label only holds a 25% stake in the group's songs, rather than the 50% that they believe, according to Billboard.
Coles sued Wu-Tang Productions and the collective's production man RZA in 2005 over royalties, claiming at the time that they were taking more money than they were entitled to from the band's profits.
The courts ruled in Coles' favour over that case, and the decision to sue Universal is believed to spring from this previous success.
Coles is currently being sued himself, over 2000 solo album Supreme Clientele, with TV music composer Jack Urbont alleging the rapper illegally sampled his 1960's tune The Iron Man Theme.
However, Coles' lawyers are confident of having the case dismissed, as the album was released over a decade ago.
