Worldwide superstar Grace Jones has today been announced as the very special guest at OnBlackheath festival.
Grace Jones said, "SE3 me, here I come. Looking forward to blowing you all away on Saturday the 13th September."
Performing on Saturday 13 September, the multi-platinum recording artist has been personally chosen by the day's headliner Massive Attack, who are curating the main stage. Other artists already announced for the weekend include Aloe Blacc, Young Fathers and Hot Chip's Joe Goddard. OnBlackheath festival, in partnership with John Lewis, is the first ever food and music festival on Blackheath Common and brings together the nation's love for both in one weekend this September. Festivalgoers will also get the opportunity to see yet more music talent throughout the weekend - on Saturday 13 September the second stage which will be hosted by national radio DJ Gilles Peterson who will be bringing an array of live music and DJ sets to his 'Worldwide Stage'. Confirmed to perform are BadBadNotGood, Hiatus Kaiyote, Anushka, Swindle (live), Zara McFarlane, Ibibio Sound Machine and DJ sets from Giles Peterson, Thris Tian (Boiler Room) and Bradley Zero.
Headlining the festival on the Sunday will be punk folk rocker Frank Tuner with support from Imelda May, Levellers, Athlete, Slowclub and Tom Hickcox. Leading independent label Heavenly Recordings will curate the second stage 'Heavenly & Friends' which will feature the likes of Radiophonic Workshop, TOY, Stealing Sheep, Charlie Boyer and the Voyeurs, The Wytches, Kid Wave, Steve Mason and Jagwar Ma. DJ sets will come from Don Letts, Heavenly Jukebox and Dave McClean (Django Django).
