Hal David is having a big weekend in Los Angeles. It started Friday with his being honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame followed by a tribute for his 90th birthday on Monday night.
The Burt Bacharach and Hal David songwriting partnership produced some of the greatest songs of the 20th century. Burt wrote the music, David the lyrics. Some of his most famous lyrics include Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head, This Guys In Love With You, Close To You, What The World Needs Now Is Love, Alfie, What's New Pussycat, The Look Of Love, Walk On By and I'll Never Fall In Love Again.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honoured Hal with the 2,451st star outside 6752 Hollywood Boulevard. Songwriter Paul Williams was a guest speaker.
Hal shares his piece of the footpath outside 6752 Hollywood Blvd with Motley Crue, Brian Adams, Jack Oakie, Rush, Harold Russell and Dick Enberg.
