Overview
Harry Potter may be one of the most successful franchises of all time but it seems the films have failed to gain recognition at prestigious film awards.
Warner Bros has now reportedly launched a campaign to get the final instalment Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part Two included in the nominations for this year's Oscars.
According to the Daily Telegraph the studio is pushing for academy members to vote for the film in 12 categories, including best picture, best director for David Yates and best actor and actress for Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson
Speaking about the possibility of Alan Rickman being nominated as best supporting actor for playing Professor Severus Snape.
Daniel Radcliffe said: "I don’t think there is going to be another performance from an actor in a supporting role that is so powerful.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was released on Blu-ray and DVD on December 2.
