Harry Styles has confessed he feels "awkward" around some of his friends.
The teenage heartthrob rose to fame with his One Direction bandmates Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne.
The 18-year-old says his success has had an impact on his friendships with people he knew before joining the band.
"A lot of people kind of feel that whatever they say isn't as exciting so they don't know what to say to you a lot of the time," he admitted to British TV show Loose Women.
"With friends you've had for quite a while it becomes awkward."
Louis added: "Yeah, I hate that. You ask, 'What have you been up to?' and they say, 'Nothing as exciting as you.' But of course we are interested."
The boys have recently been busy promoting their second album Take Me Home, which was released on Monday.
The album is a follow-up to One Direction's successful debut Up All Night, and two singles have already been released from their latest musical offering.
Whereas many of the boys' fans have already got their hands on the disc, Harry himself wasn't so lucky.
The cheeky star took to Twitter to tell followers about an obstacle he faced when trying to purchase his own music.
"Soooo... I went to download our album this morning. And my card got declined. Hahaha!! (sic)" he wrote.
