Harry Styles has been writing songs with Snow Patrol.
The One Direction hunk is busy on his Take Me Home Tour with bandmates Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan but has made time for a venture with the UK group.
While Harry has also recorded a duet with indie group Burning Beaches' singer Sam McCarthy, band bosses are adamant he's not looking to go solo.
Snow Patrol's lead singer Gary Lightbody enjoyed collaborating with the 19-year-old star.
"We wrote with Harry. It was a lot of fun. He's a real dude actually. We've no idea if those songs will make it yet, though," he explained to British newspaper The Sun.
"It's a long process. It's great to work with other people - it's good to flex the muscle."
One Direction's latest album includes a track penned by UK singer Ed Sheeran.
The boys may be keen to write with other artists, but fans needn't worry they are planning to part ways.
"One Direction always work solo with writers and are doing the same for the new album," an insider revealed.
"It saves time, which is so precious for a band under their pressures. The tracks Harry worked on with Gary are 100 per cent for the new One Direction album - and not a solo album."
Harry seems to be keen to adopt a rocker image, having shown off new tattoos and hanging out with cool model such as Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss.
However he won't be leaving the other boys behind, as The Sun reports they have signed a binding three-year contract that would see them all lose money should one of them walk away.
