Harry Styles is interested in becoming a movie star, according to Harvey Weinstein.
The 20-year-old One Direction singer has made a solid name for himself in the music industry, and is considered a heartthrob worldwide. And veteran Hollywood film producer Harvey thinks there's no doubt he'll transition into the film business.
"There's no question he will enter the movie business. I get from him that he wants to," Harvey told British newspaper The Mirror. "When you meet him, he's super-charismatic."
Harvey is co-founder of Miramax Films and co-chairman of The Weinstein Company. He is responsible for producing movies like Silver Linings Playbook, Big Eyes, Django Unchained and Pulp fiction, to name a few. And he says he's already been in talks with the young pop star about working together on films.
"He came to our Oscars party last year and then I went out to lunch with him. I've met him two or three times and he was very interested and charming. I think the guy is a movie star," he revealed.
The producer has made it clear he'll hire Harry in a heartbeat, too. But he doesn't want the star to join the ranks like everyone else and audition for him.
"He doesn't even have to audition for me. We offered him a part and he couldn't do the movie because he had the tour. The amount of money their tour did is crazy, so he's got obligations," Harvey gushed.
"I've no doubt Harry will make a great leading man one day. And he'd have no shortage of female fans queueing for popcorn."
The role Harvey previously offered Harry was opposite Cara Delevingne in Tulip Fever, but the hitmaker turned it down due to his touring schedule.
