Wildlife by Heidi Klum will debut on the shopping channel on September 8, and will be her second accessories collection for QVC following her ill-fated fine jewellery line that folded in 2009 when jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels sued for copyright infringement.
She told WWD, 'We fought with Van Cleef & Arpels for over a year and a half, but we were a small fry next to a company like that. But looking back, I'm quite happy to be doing something new.'
The new products will come in 35 styles, ranging in price from $30 to $200, and will be made from materials like antique silverstone, brasstone, and simulated gemstones.
'All of the pieces are statement pieces,' Klum said, adding that she takes inspiration from flea markets. 'The only reason to wear costume jewellery is to wear something large - something you can't do with real jewellery because it would be too expensive.'
