Hugh Cornwell is delighted to announce a UK tour to take place in November 2009. Buy tickets here.
This is a full band tour featuring Caroline Campbell (bass) and Chris Bell (drums). One of the our finest song-writing talents and live performers, Hugh is touring in support of his ambitious recent studio album, the lo-fi masterpiece "Hoover Dam", released by Invisible Hands Music. The album was produced by Grammy-winning indie legend Liam Watson – best known for his work on "Elephant" by the White Stripes.
The whole "Hoover Dam" album is available to download completely _FREE_ as high quality DRM-free MP3s from *www.hughcornwell.com* – and Hugh's site is now in twelve* languages. This initiative has brought Hugh's music to a massive new audience – a fact borne out by his barnstorming show at the Glastonbury Festival which was overflowing with people
wanting to catch the performance. The CD version of "Hoover Dam" includes a DVD containing feature-length documentary "Blueprint", and vinyl LP sales have also been very strong. "Hoover Dam" is also making a splash abroad, currently in the US college radio Top 200, with US concert dates throughout September, and shows in Germany, Holland, France and the Baltic states in autumn.
As the original singer, guitarist and main songwriter with The Stranglers, Hugh enjoyed massive UK and European success in the 17 year period that he was in the band. The success of "Hoover Dam" and this highly anticipated UK tour show that his songwriting, performance, vitality and vigour remain undimmed.
