I Blame Coco is set to release her new single 'Self Machine' on June 27th through Island taken from forthcoming debut album, "The Constant"
A soaring dystopian disco anthem and a dose of heartfelt, creative electro pop at its finest, it was penned by Coco Sumner and Klas Ahlund.
The follow up to the critically acclaimed limited edition single 'Ceasar' feat. Robyn, 'Self Machine' weaves theatrical synth pop together with Coco's gloriously husky, personality packed vocal to create an incomparable sound that's light years ahead of the pack.
"I'm not a human if you say I'm not/I'm not a human if my hinges lock'" ponders a philosophical Coco over towering keys and indomitable beats.
As 19 year old Coco gets to grips with an imagined robot state which is part JG Ballard, part Wall-E, she effortlessly blows all the wannabe chart botherers out of the water.
Produced by Foat, Boddy and Klas Ahlund and mixed by Mark 'Spike' Stent, 'Self Machine' features the kind of infectious chorus that will work just as well slipping out of the speakers at indie clubs across the nation as it will at down and dirty electro discos. 'Self Machine' is set to be a crossover classic.
Having recently toured with La Roux, Coco is also guesting on 'Splash' by Subfocus - which Zane Lowe named his 'Hottest Record in the World'- and with whom she appeared with at Radio 1's Big Weekend in May. In addition, Coco has collaborated with Fyfe Dangerfield on a version of Neil Young's classic track 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart'.
La Roux and Sub Focus have remixed 'Self Machine', offering up their own takes on the track alongside Jakwob, Pangea and Chew Fu.
Festival dates for I Blame Coco are to be announced shortly.
