Blowfly may well be the filthiest rapper that ever lived, but his career encompasses so much more than childish rewordings of classics songs and now that has been captured in a documentary on his life.
His career started off as a soul and R&B producer and writer under the name Clarence Reid. With hits under his belt including Clean Up Woman by Betty Wright and KC and the Sunshine Band's Sound Your Funky Horn (whose first gig was at Reid's wedding), he should be a multimillionaire, but instead he travels the world doing his best to offend audiences.
The documentary, The Weird World of Blowfly, features interviews with Jello Biafra, Ice-T, Chuck D and more. It was directed by Jonathan Furmanski, who has done music videos for LCD Soundsystem and Modern Yesterday.
