Grammy Winner, Imogen Heap has announced a one off live date at The Royal Albert Hall in London on Friday November 5th.
Innovative, unique and multi talented, UK artist Imogen won a Grammy and made history at the 2010 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. The singer /songwriter / producer received the prize for her work on her album 'Ellipse'. She is the first ever female artist to win the award for engineering her own album, the award title being: 'Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical'.
In true 'techie' style Imogen surprised many with her customized 'twitter' dress she wore to the ceremony, complete with flashing messages and a handbag-sized TV connecting to her followers. "I just thought it'd be nice for them to come with me so I've got a live Twitter feed from them," she commented.
Dubbed the 'Queen of the Digital Age' Imogen was one of the first musical artists to truly embrace the Internet and even had her fans write a recent biog for her via twitter "It was just me there in my studio", she explained, "All the way through making the record I had so much encouragement and love via Twitter or YouTube or MySpace from the fans and it really helped me to crack the whip in the studio."
The Royal Albert Hall date is part of Imogen's 2010 World Tour, which is visiting, North America, Scandanavia, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Luxenmberg, Holland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia.

'Ellipse' was written and produced by Imogen herself with a few guest musicians filling in the few spaces Heap didn't play on herself. For inspiration, she set out on a writing trip which took her to Maui, Fiji, Tasmania, China, Japan and Thailand. The first song Imogen wrote for 'Ellipse' was 'Wait It Out', penned at the piano in Maui, overlooking the Pacific Ocean in March 2007. When she came back to England and staying true to her do-it-yourself ethos, Imogen returned to her childhood family home and after 8 months transformed the room she used to play in as a child into a recording studio. It was here she finished making the new album 'Ellipse'.
'Ellipse' is available now on Epic Records and on download.
