The first extended scene from "Iron Man 3" is coming this Sunday exclusively at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, but you can get a snippet of the action right now!
But that's just the beginning. Using the Twitter hashtag #UnlockIronMan, fans can fuel Tony Stark's arc reactor at MTV.com, unlocking a second sneak peek of the "Iron Man 3" extended scene that will premiere in its entirety during the Movie Awards at 9 p.m. Sunday. Iron Men (and Women) are encouraged to tweet as often as possible and check back regularly to see how quickly the reactor reaches full power, at which point MTV will unveil another tease of footage from that exclusive scene.
"Iron Man 3" wraps up a trilogy of films starring Robert Downey Jr. as Stark, a billionaire industrialist whose search for a remedy for his ailing heart led to the construction of a superhuman suit of armor. In the latest film, which is set for release May 3, Stark finds his business and personal lives threatened by an unknown adversary with seemingly bottomless resources. As he fights to keep his company afloat and his friends safe, Stark must come to terms with what made him the hero he is today — the suit of armor he wears or the man inside it?
Meanwhile, Iron Man is but one of the heroes being honored at the MTV Movie Awards: "The Avengers," featuring Stark and several of his superpowered colleagues, was nominated forMovie of the Year, and Iron Man himself is nominated alongside David Banner (Mark Ruffalo) for Best On-Screen Duo. If you think they should take home the ceremony's top honors, there's still time to vote: You can play a part in deciding who wins in each category. Then tune in Sunday at 9 p.m. to see if your picks prevail when host Rebel Wilson steps onstage at the Sony Pictures Studios lot to announce the winners.
