Ja Rule drove on the wrong side of the road in Australia.
The 'Wonderful' rapper terrified residents in the Sydney suburb of Pyrmont when he forgot the country's traffic laws and "powered" down the road's right-hand lane after being distracted by views of Sydney Harbour.
His publicist Adam Cubito said: "I think he was more interested in looking at the view of Sydney than he was keeping his eyes on the road."
The 33-year-old hip-hop star had appeared on radio station Nova 969 to promote his performance at the Big Top event at Luna Park on Saturday (29.08.09).
After discussing his love for fast cars with the show's host Kate Ritchie, the DJ offered him a drive of her mother's Toyota Seca with her colleagues Merrick Watts and Tim Ross.
But Ja Rule – real name Jeffrey Atkins – seemingly thought he was still in the US.
Cubito explained: "He powered out into Pyrmont with Kate in the front and the show's other hosts Merrick and Rosso in the car and onto the wrong side of the road.
"They were all shouting at him to get back on the right side. I think there were a few people ducking out of the way.
"He obviously thought he was still in America. Luckily there was no damage."
Ja Rule was set to perform in Australia last month but struggled to organise his visa because of delays believed to have been due to his 2007 arrest for possessing a gun.
The incident was recorded by the radio team and is due to be aired on the station tomorrow morning (28.08.09).
