The 41-year-old actor is one of the world’s best-loved comic actors, having made a name for himself in movies such as Shallow Hal, School of Rock, and this year’s comedy smash Gulliver’s Travels.
He is also an established musician thanks to his work in satirical rock duo Tenacious D, although he says people don’t know about his gift for paining.
“It’s all the same to me acting, music...I’m gonna throw painting in there as well,” he told Cover Media. “I love it. Yeah that’s right, all of the arts. Lots of people don’t know about my painting - coming soon at a gallery near you.”
Jack plays title character Lemuel Gulliver in Gulliver’s Travels, which was adapted from the novel of 18th century writer Jonathan Swift and tells the story of a man stranded on an island of little people.
As he does in many of his movies, Jack displays his singing and dancing skills in one memorable scene at the end of the film, and the star admits music has always been a massive part of his life.
“Music and comedy have always gone hand in hand. I did a lot of musical theatre in my high school,” he added.
