Jack White insists marriage is real

Jack White has insisted that his surprise wedding last week was the real deal.

The White Stripes frontman married Manchester-born model Karen Elson in a canoe on the Amazon river in Brazil last week (June 2), however the proximity to today's (June 6) release of new album ‘Get Behind Me Satan' has led some to question how valid the union actually is.

“It's definitely for real,” White told the Canadian Press. “We knew (we were in love) probably from the moment we met each other. Whether it was going to happen a year from now or three days later, it was just going to happen.”

White's new wife appeared in the video for 'Get Behind Me Satan's launch single ‘Blue Orchid' and has modelled for Prada.

White also added that ‘Get Behind Me Satan' is not inspired by his love life, and his break-up with actress Renee Zellweger in particular.

“There's no truth to that at all,” he declared. “I would never make such a pedestrian record. How easy it would be to do that, but first of all, you'd have to be heartbroken in the first place over somebody, which I've never been, really. Any notion of all that (break-up) stuff is just nonsense."document.write(unescape("
