The former White Stripes rocker and the model, who have two children together, marked both momentous occasions at once with a bash for their nearest and dearest on Friday, and insisted there are no hard feelings over the end of their marriage.
A statement to People magazine on Friday read: 'Karen Elson and Jack White announce today that they are getting divorced. We remain dear and trusted friends and co-parents to our wonderful children Scarlett and Henry Lee. We feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow.'
The statement continued: 'In honour of that time shared, we are throwing a divorce party: an evening together in Nashville to reaffirm our friendship and celebrate the past and future with close friends and family.'
The invitation read: “Please help us celebrate together this anniversary of the making and breaking of the sacred union of marriage with our best friends and animals. This is only for close personal friends and family. So please no plus ones or dead beats.'
