JAMES MORRISON said he was "gutted" to walk away from the Brit Awards empty-handed.
The singer-songwriter was nominated for the Best Male Solo Artist gong, but lost out to Paul Weller at last month's ceremony.
He said: "I'm gutted at not winning. But losing to Paul is cool. I'd rather lose to him than anyone else.
"Awards do matter, but at the same time it's not the be-all and end-all."
He also said that while he was pleased for Duffy's triple-win, he really wanted Adele to win.
He added: "I did want to see Adele win, to be honest. I've just been on tour with her and she's amazing live.
"I would have voted for her without a doubt, but Duffy still deserved to win."
