Canadian punk rockers Japandroids announce their follow-up to the acclaimed debut Post-Nothing.
The Vancouver anthemic punk duo released their debut in 2009 to much love, appeared on year-end lists from Pitchfork, NME, Spin and more.
Now they're back with their second album Celebration Rock. Brian King told Rolling Stone that the album was mostly a necessity for them to keep up the heavy touring following Post-Nothing.
He said, "During that whole time, we never really talked about what we were going to do when all the touring ended – we were just so happy playing shows. At the end of 2010, we were basically at the point where it was like, "OK, you want to keep touring? Well, you gotta go make another record…."
The album features eight tracks, but the Australian version out on Pod through Inertia will have seven bonus tracks including the 'Heavenward Grand Prix'/'Art Czars' 7-inch as well as covers of Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, PJ Harvey, Big Black, and X.
Check out the first tune 'The House That Heaven Built'. Celebration Rock will be released on June 29.
