Jarvis Cocker has split from his wife.
The former Pulp frontman and French fashion stylist Camille Bidault-Waddington have decided to end their six-year marriage, but the Common People singer insists they are still on good terms.
He said: "Yes, it's true. We split, but we're still on amicable terms."
Jarvis, who has a six-year-old son, Albert, with Camille, has moved out of the home they shared in Paris but will not leave the French capital as he wants to stay close to his child.
A source said: "Jarvis is sad his marriage has ended. He fought to keep it alive but they had drifted apart.
"But he won t be coming back to Britain, he wants to be involved in every aspect of Albert's upbringing.
"His own father moved to Australia when he was just seven and they have had no contact since. That's not something he wants to be repeated with his own son."
Jarvis, 45, previously spoke of how his father's absence from his life influenced his decision to take a career break when Albert was born.
He said: "Maybe because of my dad disappearing and stuff like that, I've got more of a bee in my bonnet about being a 'hands-on parent' or a 'new man' or whatever.
"I definitely decided I had the resources to take a bit of time off and do that."
