Jennifer Lopez: I started going grey when I was 23

The American Idol judge also revealed that she felt “honoured” to have been recently voted the “most beautiful woman in the world”, but added that since marrying husband Mark Anthony men are too afraid to compliment her.

Lopez said on a US radio show: “My mum and my dad both went grey at a young age and I did too. At 23! Once I got started doing movies, I started to [go] grey.”

“It was the stress, the pressure”, she joked.

She then quipped that since she married Anthony, she has had to get her hair done “every two weeks”.

Talking about being voted People Magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman in the World, she said: “I’m not 20 years old anymore, so I was very excited about it.

“When I was told about it, I was like, ‘What?’ But it’s obviously very flattering. It’s a great honour to be talked about in that way.”

The mum-of-two added: “Since I’ve been married, seven years this year, people don’t really compliment me anymore.

“But girls do. I love girls and I love my girlfriends… I’m always very friendly towards women.”
