Since gaining global attention with the release of her debut album One From The Heart in 1984, which spawned hits such as Love's Gonna Get You and the perennial club classic Somebody Else's Guy, Jocelyn Brown has carved out a reputation as one of the most phenomenal female singers of her generation.
An artist with a powerful, soul shaking voice, she has enjoyed success on both sides of the Atlantic and will return to the UK in June to perform a hit-laden set at West London's Under the Bridge.
Despite being sampled by the likes of George Michael, Moby and Snap (for their international smash hit single The Power), and having worked with a raft of stellar names that include Luther Vandross, Bette Midler, John Lennon, Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Roberta Flack and George Benson, Brown remains level headed and grateful for her musical talents.
"I don't really think about being a "star", she insists. "If that is going to happen, then it's in God's hands and I thank him for all his blessings."
Jocelyn Brown is at Under the Bridge on June 7th 2013. Tickets are £28 advance or £35 on the door.
