Joe Jonas thinks girlfriend Gigi Hadid was an amazing leader with her megaphone as she directed the new music video for his band DNCE.
The group debuted the visual promo for their single Cake By the Ocean exclusively through Entertainment Weekly on Friday 16 October (15).
And Joe, who has been dating Gigi since the summer (15), believes she absolutely excelled with her directorial debut.
"It was her idea for the video and we were like f**k it, you should do the video, and she just ran with it," he told People magazine. "She had a megaphone. She was a bada*s. Everybody really looked up to her to lead and she really came through and showed us that she could do it."
But Gigi, 20, can't take all the credit for the effort, as she co-directed the video with Black Coffee.
Joe formed DNCE, which is comprised of himself, bass player Cole Whittle, drummer Jack Lawless and guitarist JinJoo Lee, in 2015.
The release of their song Cake By the Ocean is the first track Joe has published since his family band the Jonas Brothers broke up in 2013.
And Joe, 26, is elated to be active in the music game again.
"Every song I'm a part of in some way and I co-wrote and the band plays on as well," he gushed. "It's really great and exciting to finally get back to the grind."
The Cake By the Ocean music video sees the band rocking out on a shoreline behind a giant piece of cake.
The whole concept centres around DNCE's International Cake Fight Championship, a fictional event.
But even though a whole lot of dessert was being thrown around, the cleanup effort was easier than everyone imagined.
"We all just ate the cake off the sand," bassist Cole told Entertainment Weekly. "Everyone had cake and had fun."
