The 21-year-old singer has been dating the Twilight actress since July last year, and rumours have been circulating that Joe is planning to propose. Although the pair are smitten with each other, their dogs reportedly can’t stand to be in the same room. Joe’s bulldog Winston is fiercely protective of his famous owner and often snarls at Ashley when she tries to get close to her boyfriend. Winston regularly has vicious fights with Ashley’s toy fox terrier Marlow, who has also shown a dislike for Joe.

“The dogs are both very territorial and protective of their owners,” a source told National Enquirer. “They don’t get along with each other and Marlow will nip Joe on the finger, while Winston growls at Ashley.”

Joe and Ashley, 23, are becoming increasingly frustrated with the situation and it may continue to worsen. They are so concerned about their warring dogs, they are considering seeking professional help to calm the atmosphere.

“They constantly have to separate Winston and Marlow and it’s became a hassle,” the source added. “They joke that they’re ready to call in the dog whisperer!”
