Johnny Marr has revealed that a plant named baring his name is in the running for Flower Of The year at this year's Chelsea Flower Show.
The former Smiths and Cribs guitarist attended the event yesterday (May 23) to pose for a picture with the plant, real name Sarracenia.
Bred by Matthew Soper, the Johnny Marr has pale pink petals and “is outstanding for its colour, vigour and long-lasting pitchers”.
The description adds: “Spring bright copper colour turns to dark burgundy later in the season.”
The Chelsea Flower Show gets under way officially in London today (May 24).
