A special concert to honour the late-Jon Lord of Deep Purple will be held in early next year with exact date and location to be determined.
The event is being organized by Jacky Paice, the wife of Purple member Ian Paice as part of her Sunflower Jam charity. Money raised by the tribute will be contributed to fund research into pancreatic cancer.
Lord was not only Paice's bandmate but also Jacky's brother-in-law being married to her twin sister. His work is not only heard with Deep Purple but also with Whitesnake, Paice, Ashton and Lloyd, the Artwoods and the Flower Pot Men along with guest appearances on a myriad of albums. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2011 and died on July 16, 2012.
