Timberweek continued Thursday night on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" when Justin Timberlake taking over the stage. While JT brought the funk during his Wednesday night show, he slowed things down a bit for Thursday's broadcast debut of "Strawberry Bubblegum."
During his performance, the former NSYNC frontman traded in his suit and tie for a more casual look. Sporting a T-shirt, jeans and jacket with his backing band's name "TN Kids" emblazoned on the back, Timberlake rocked the crowd, hitting their sweet spot with the smooth sounds of the new song off his upcoming album The 20/20 Experience.
MTV News was in the audience and spotted Timberlake's other half, wife Jessica Biel, who walked on set just moments before her husband took the stage. Timberlake, along with his band and house performers the Roots, showed off his signature falsetto over the smooth R&B jam, mesmerizing the small studio audience.
"I guess your mouth in motion got me so hot/ And I can tell it's pure just by the taste," Timberlake sang on the very sexy track.
Minutes into the song, Timberlake switched gears, picking up the tempo. Flocked by his back-up dancers dressed in black-and-white pinstripe pants, Timberlake continued to impress with his flawless dance moves as he sang "If you'll be my strawberry bubblegum, I'll be your blueberry lollipop/ I'll love you 'till I make you pop."
Prior to fellow guests Katie Couric and British star Freddie Highmore, Timberlake joined Fallon for a sketch. The duo traveled back to Camp Winnipesaukee in 1983 as younger, nerdier versions of themselves with both men wearing braces and curly wigs (a look we haven't seen on Timberlake in a while). Instead of counting sheep to fall asleep, they serenade each other with a rousing rendition of Toto's "Africa."
