Justin Timberlake says it was fun to shoot guns and not get arrested while making his new movie.
The singer-and-actor stars in new sci-fi thriller In Time alongside Amanda Seyfried. Justin enjoyed taking part in high-octane scenes and was thrilled to take risks without getting in trouble with the law.
''ve never done a film like this so I was excited to jump into those running shoes - I run a lot in this movie,' he told Total Film. 't's very intimate and performance driven, but it was fun to drive cars really fast and shoot guns and not get arrested for it!'
In Time is set in a future world where people stop ageing at 25 and must buy themselves more time. However, one young man ends up on the run from the corrupt police to save his life.
Justin felt a deep connection to his role and was inspired by director Andrew Niccol.
' think Andrew has an ability to use his films to make us look in the mirror. He does it in such a smart way,' he explained. '[There's the story of] the anti-hero who, in turn, is forced to become a hero, but the bigger picture is the society that's been split in two halves. There is no middle class ' there's the rich who can live forever and the poor who die young, so I think it's of the zeitgeist.'
In Time is released worldwide later this year.
