(Cover) - EN Movies - Justin Timberlake isn't trying to be a "serious actor".
The American star put his successful singing career on hold in 2004 to concentrate on acting.
Since then Justin has built up an impressive array of roles in movies such as Alpha Dog and Friends with Benefits.
However, the 31-year-old claims he is just picking projects that appeal to him.
"I'm not trying to be a serious actor, I just want to do good work," he revealed in an interview with Esquire.
Justin's breakthrough role came in 2010's Facebook drama The Social Network. Justin played manipulative Napster inventor Sean Parker and received critical acclaim for his performance. His new movie In Time is another blockbuster.
Although Justin enjoys working on these larger-scale projects, he revealed that he prefers working on smaller movies.
His roles in his earlier movies Southland Tales and Alpha Dog held more significance for the actor.
"I did smaller films because they meant something to me," he explained.
"I didn't care about the success of them, but they felt like real performances that I could get lost in."
The actor is currently starring in science fiction thriller In Time, alongside Amanda Seyfried.
