K-pop band 4Minute have issued an official statement following a tragic event that saw 16 fans killed at a concert in Seongham, South Korea yesterday (17 October).
The fatal accident saw a ventilation grate give way when a number of fans climbed up to get a better view of the show, with 11 fans injured and 16 dead after falling over 20ft to the ground.
In the wake of the awful circumstances, the group's label have issued a statement offering their condolences.
It reads: "We can't express how regretful they are for what happened", before continuing to explain the full situation, "The performance wasn't solely a 4Minute show, but a stage shared by many artists for an event."
"During their performance, none of the members or staff were aware of the accident and finished their complete set. It wasn't until they arrived back in Seoul that they heard of the news regarding the accident. We hope the audience wasn't hurt in this accident."
The conditions of the 11 fans seriously injured have yet to be revealed.
