Kaiser Chiefs tore through a storming thirteen song set in the London saturday as part of the Carling Live 24 event (April 30).
The gig, which had a 12.30pm start, saw singer Ricky Wilson climbing the railings of the Carling Academy Islington during current single 'Everyday I Love You Less And Less' and stage diving during 'Oh My God' and 'I Predict A Riot'.
Wilson told NME.COM that it was strange to be playing a gig so early in the day, saying: “We've never played an afternoon show before. We're understandably tired first thing in the morning as it is like the middle of the night for us rock and roll stars. I didn't get my usual 15 hours!"
Across the capital, Babyshambles surprised an expectant audience by playing a controversy free show at London's ULU.
Singer Pete Doherty arrived on stage on time, and launched into a well-heeled version of 'Black Boy Lane'.
After retrieving bouquets of flowers from members of the audience, the band played a 45-minute set that featured a newly re-worked version of 'Babyshambles', and a poignant version of 'Fuck Forever' alongside fan favourites 'Gang Of Gin' and 'Albion'.
Kill City singer - and the mother of Pete's child - Lisa Moorish was seen clapping along from the side of the stage.
The band's set was almost immediately followed by a fire alarm, causing ULU to be evacuated.
Yesterday's Carling Live 24 featured six venues hosting music from 7am through to 7am (May 1) and also saw sets from The Departure, Brendan Benson, Embrace and The Zutons.document.write(unescape("
