Kate Bush stunned fans and critics with an epic and theatrical gig at London's Hammersmith Apollo, with her first live appearance in 35 years last night (Tuesday 26 August, 2014).
The 'Wuthering Heights' pop icon famously asked her fans not to take photos of footage on their phones at the show. It is said that many abided by the rules, allowing them to get lost in the fully immersive experience.
The Before The Dawn show was an epic, theatrical show, based around the story of a woman lost at sea in a vivid dream landscape. Reports say that the choreographed performance involved dancers in life-jackets wielding axes and chainsaws to 'cut up the stage', a large machine hovering over the crowd to create the effect of a search helicopter, Bush "being borne through the audience" by dancers dressed to look like fish people and a confetti cannon shooting small pieces of poetry over the crowd.
Lasting over three hours, the show was broken up into four segments. The crowd reportedly contained the likes Björk, Lily Allen, and Madonna - not to mention Danny Baker, who started a cruel rumour that David Bowie would be appeaing on stage with her.
